A different side of Italy: two places to slow down in a new way.

16 June 2026

What if your next journey began with one simple question: what do you need today ?

Some places have that rare gift: they adapt to your pace and to whatever you feel like in the moment.

Sometimes, we discover a place and know almost immediately that we want to stay a little longer. A certain light, a landscape that sets the mood, or simply an atmosphere that speaks to something deeper.

Yoga naturally led Les Voyages d’Apogée to ADLER Ritten in the Dolomites and ADLER Sicilia on Sicily’s south-west coast. There, we discovered two resorts whose sense of balance immediately appealed to us: unspoilt nature, understated architecture, genuine hospitality, and an invitation to slow down while enjoying every moment.

ADLER Ritten: forest, yoga and Alpine views.

The journey begins in northern Italy, in the region also known as South Tyrol. Here, the scenery feels distinctly Alpine, with dense woodland and an almost Nordic atmosphere.

At around 1,200 metres, ADLER Ritten sits among wooded slopes, with the Dolomites on the horizon and Bolzano within easy reach. The plateau can be reached by cable car, followed by the small train that crosses the Renon.

Even the arrival feels different. The hotel seems completely at home in its surroundings: the valley, the cable car, the railway and the trees all become part of the journey.

ADLER Ritten gives Alpine style a contemporary feel, with clear influences from Nordic lodges. The resort has around forty suites and chalets, spread across the landscape rather than clustered around a main building. The result is an immediate sense of space and privacy.

Wood, clean lines, reflections on the water and façades opening onto the trees give the resort the feel of a Scandinavian retreat rather than a traditional mountain hotel. Its luxury lies in its restraint, allowing the landscape to take centre stage.

The resort also understands something few places do: silence does not have to mean stillness. Here, the forest sets the pace and the Dolomites shape the view. You can walk, swim in the saltwater pool, unwind in the sauna, sit by the fire or enjoy a menu built around local produce.
Every space encourages you to slow down and pay more attention to the small details that shape the day.

Yoga feels like a natural part of the experience here. ADLER has a dedicated yoga pavilion on the quiet plateau, surrounded by trees and filled with natural light.

For those who already practise yoga, the pavilion changes the way the stay is experienced: the landscape becomes part of the practice itself.

Here, yoga feels like a natural extension of the setting. It brings the body back to centre, without any sense of performance, held by the open air, the wood and the silence.

For anyone new to yoga, this may matter most: a setting that feels reassuring, guidance that supports you, and the freedom to begin at your own pace.

ADLER Ritten will appeal to travellers who value discreet places, understated comfort, nature that feels present but never overwhelming, and a sense of calm without feeling cut off from the world. It is for those looking for simplicity, backed by impeccable service.
Yoga, guided hikes, sports activities and local experiences are all a genuine part of the stay, making it easy to enjoy the resort without constantly paying extra.

Then comes Sicily, and everything changes.
Forests give way to Mediterranean scrub, while mountain views open out towards the sea. The light is brighter, the landscape broader, and the Mediterranean wind seems to move through it all.

ADLER Sicilia: sea, light and Mediterranean views.

Near Siculiana, not far from Agrigento, ADLER Sicilia lies beside the Torre Salsa nature reserve, surrounded by Mediterranean scrub, dunes, pale cliffs and a sunlit sea. Much of its appeal comes from this sense of freedom: a protected coastline, a beach stretching for several kilometres, and the rare privilege of staying in such an unspoilt setting.

The architecture deserves a closer look. ADLER Sicilia follows the contours of the land and the natural lines of the Mediterranean landscape. Low-rise and built in terraces, the resort seems to flow with the slope. Modern yet understated, it remains closely connected to its surroundings.

The choice of materials plays a key part: wood, stone, clay, mineral details and warm tones. Together, they create a calm atmosphere where light and the natural elements take centre stage.

This is where ADLER Sicilia really stands out. The resort feels fully connected to its natural surroundings, with the sea, sun and wind shaping the rhythm of the stay. The sea is always present, guiding the day, opening up the view and creating a deeper sense of space.

The spa feels like a natural extension of the landscape. Across its pools, saunas and treatments, salt, sun, wind and the scent of Mediterranean scrub remain part of the experience.

Here, rest takes on a different meaning. It can be found in the walk to the beach, the scent of sun-warmed scrub, a swim in the sea, a lunch full of southern flavours, or a long dinner as the light begins to fade.

At ADLER Sicilia, yoga feels like part of the landscape. The dedicated pavilion, set beside a large reflecting pool, complements the open spaces overlooking the Mediterranean. Spend a few days here and it soon becomes clear how naturally the setting lends itself to the practice.

As at the other ADLER resorts, the stay includes a wide range of activities, from guided hikes and yoga sessions to wellness experiences, sports and local discoveries. It is a welcome approach, making it easier to enjoy the resort without feeling that every experience comes at an extra cost.

ADLER Sicilia will appeal to travellers who value space over seclusion, and who want a refined stay with freedom to move at their own pace. It is a place for those who love the Mediterranean when it still feels raw, expansive and open.

After Ritten, which brings you back to your breath, ADLER Sicilia offers a different answer. The journey does not end here. Instead, it opens onto an odyssey yet to come.

What these two ADLER resorts reveal about wellness travel in Italy.

ADLER Ritten and ADLER Sicilia share the same philosophy: letting the setting shape the rhythm of the stay. It is a more subtle way to approach wellness travel — allowing the place to set the pace rather than planning every moment.

In the Dolomites, rest comes through the forest, the wood, the altitude and the breath. In Sicily, it comes through the horizon, the light, the salt air and the open space. In both resorts, yoga is quietly present, but always in the right way. That matters to us. It creates a sense of grounding, brings the body back into the journey and changes the way we experience the air, the silence, the sea and the light.

At Les Voyages d’Apogée, we are drawn to places that create a strong connection between the body, the landscape and a renewed sense of time. This is our idea of luxury: space, nature, time and genuine care in every part of the experience. It is a vision that reflects the way we like to travel.

The true value of these two resorts lies in their ability to adapt to your pace and to what you need right now.

If this way of travelling speaks to you, contact Les Voyages d’Apogée. We will help you choose the ADLER resort that best suits your pace, your wishes and what you need right now.

Sometimes, the urge to get away comes before we can put it into words. We simply know that we need a change of scene, a little more space to breathe, and to step away from the noise without disappearing from the world altogether.
